This Americana Style Fountain Pen has a “screw cap” and is made of Ironwood from Hawaii. It has a German Iridium nib and a medium point. Ironwood is very hard wood and and that is how it gets its name. The ink comes with a cartridge refill but can be upgraded to a piston plunger for a small additional charge. The piston plunger allows you to refill from an ink bottle giving you a virtually unlimited supply of ink. We still recommend cartridges for travel because they are move convenient to carry.
