Our Store has many high definition close up digital pen photographs. We added this photography to show you exactly what you were buying. However, as our product line grew we needed a professional systematic approach to storing, retrieving, backing up and displaying our product photography. We looked around for ideas and instruction but there is little written. So we developed our own processes and procedures. After we finished, some of our clients wanted to know what we did because they were having many of the same problems. Thus we decided to write a book about whole storage and retrieval process (we removed all references to the store to make the book more generic). We've added many extras to make the book applicable to personal photography. Here are the main problems we were trying to solve: Physical Storage Space and Requirements (Disc space) File and Folder names (Naming conventions and concepts) Paths to Files and Folders Retrieval: By subject; Project; Class of Product; By Keyword or Tag Easy and Systematic Backup for file protection and safety Display - where and why?
